The two flags in this photograph represent my mixed British and West Indian (Jamaican) heritage. I was born in London at St Thomas Hospital in 1999, however my dad is from Jamaica, as was my mother's father. I am very well connected to my West Indian roots and frequently visit Jamaica for holidays and to see family members. The British flag is larger in the image, representing my main British identity as Britain is where I was born, have grown up and always lived. Jamaica is however still a large part of my life and I feel like I have the best of both worlds with my links to both sunnier and cooler climates. I absolutely love both countries.
