'The Gym' is the gym I am currently a member of. The gym has been a major part of my life ever since turning 16 when I was old enough to attend. It all started when my father said I had to join my secondary school swimming team (as I am a really strong swimmer), however I was a bit overweight and self conscious at the time,so wasn't very happy. This encouraged me to get fit and I began jogging in the great outdoors on a mission to lose weight. I did 10 laps around the block to begin with and as I stuck to my routine religiously, I soon started to see the weight drop off. I then joined the gym and started to incorporate weight lifting to build muscle and compliment my cardiovascular workouts. Exercise soon became very enjoyable to me and a daily lifestyle habit. I never did join the swimming team but my dad's suggestion pushed me to lose weight and today I am much fitter and feel a lot better about myself as a consequence.
